Meeting someone

One strong intro at a time
When a strong match is open near you, you both get an intro with photos, the mode and one line on why you’d click. No swiping, no feed.

Find each other
After you both say yes, a compass and a distance range point the way for up to 30 minutes, plus a colour beacon to hold up.

Chat after a yes
Send messages, photos, voice notes and GIFs to people you’re connected with. Nobody can message you before a mutual yes.

Plan a meetup
In a chat, get suggestions for nearby places and times, and send a calendar invite.

You choose who sees what
For each detail, choose whether people see it in an intro, only after an intro, or never (used for matching only).

Voice intro
Record an optional voice intro of up to 30 seconds so people can hear you before you meet.

Verified badge
Take a selfie in the app and a member of our team compares it with your photos. No face recognition.

Linked accounts
Optionally link Facebook, Instagram, Spotify, Strava or LinkedIn to improve your matches. Nothing is shown without your OK.

When nobody good is around right now, see your strongest matches who were open in the same area this week.

Events
Join meetups hosted by members or venues and approved by our team, with matching among the people who are there.

Group intros
Out with a friend? Say you’re open to a group hello and two of you can meet two others.

Wingperson
A friend you’re connected with can suggest someone for you. It becomes an intro only if you both say yes.

Missed connections
If you both turned it on, being at the same venue this week can become an intro later.

Your location stays private
No one sees where you are, how far away you are or that you’re nearby before you both say yes.

Check-in timer
Start a timer when you meet. If you don’t check in, your trusted contacts are alerted.

Panic button
Alert your trusted contacts right away, with a large button to call 911.

Block, report, hide
Block or report anyone, and choose phone numbers you never want to be matched with.

Open NextMove in your browser and add it to your home screen. No download needed.

The site and the app are in all three languages; change it any time in Settings.

Follows your device’s setting, or choose light or dark in Settings.

Push notifications are off until you turn them on. Pick each type and set quiet hours.
